Join the College of Natural Sciences at Southern Utah University and assist in enhancing our digital presence and communication through various digital platforms. This position involves managing college social media accounts, promotion of college events, creating marketing content, and assisting in planning content across multiple platforms.

  • This position will manage college communications, ensuring messages are accurate, clear and effective.
  • This position will take the lead to develop and implement a content plan for social media accounts.
  • Provide coverage of college news & events, through a combination of social media posts, newsletter stories and SUU website posts, including writing copy for blog posts on college news & events.
  • Attend college events and take photos or video clips that can be used in social media posts or news stories.
  • Provide coverage at the office front desk, greeting visitors, and scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Please do not swing by the office to introduce yourself - this time of year we have a lot of meetings and are frequently not in the office.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Work Study Eligible (Please note this position can only be filled with work study eligible students. If you did not apply for work study funding when completing your FAFSA you may still be eligible. Please check with the campus financial aid office)

  • Expert command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • High degree of responsibility and ability to follow through with projects.
  • Experience in digital content creation and digital communication platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite & Canva.
  • Schedule availability to work 15-20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Photography/Videography Experience.
  • Communication or Marketing Major/Minor.
